CVE-2026-43467

Kernel crash via unsupported IPsec cleanup

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux Kernel mlx5 driver allows local users to crash affected systems during a switchdev mode change. The mlx5e_nic_disable path calls mlx5e_ipsec_disable_events without first verifying IPsec support, causing cleanup code to use uninitialized state. Reaching the path requires local privileges to change the devlink eswitch mode and mlx5 hardware without IPsec support.
