Device hang via runtime-suspend workqueue deadlock
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Improper locking in the Linux kernel amdxdna driver before 6.19.9 allows local users to hang the device during runtime suspend. The suspend callback drains the running-job workqueue while a job can call pm_runtime_resume_and_get(), creating a circular wait between resume and suspend. A low-privileged local user must submit work to an AMD XDNA device as runtime suspension begins; the deadlock interrupts device availability without reported data exposure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
