Local denial of service via active URB resubmission
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
A USB driver flaw in Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt system availability through repeated reads after an MDC800 device timeout. In mdc800_device_read(), a timeout returns without canceling download_urb, and the next read resubmits the still-active URB. Exploitation requires local access and an MDC800 device that times out; repeated resubmission raises a kernel warning and interrupts the affected system.
