Local service interruption via unbounded wait handles
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Denial of service in the Linux kernel amdgpu wait ioctl allows local users to exhaust host memory with huge user-supplied handle counts. The amdgpu_userq_wait_ioctl function uses the supplied count to size wait-request data without enforcing AMDGPU_USERQ_MAX_HANDLES. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and an AMD GPU using amdgpu user queues; the resulting OOM interrupts host services.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
