CVE-2026-43382

Local system hang via nested RTNL locking

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

Deadlock in the Linux Kernel batman-adv ELP worker allows local users to hang the system during concurrent interface shutdown. batadv_v_elp_get_throughput() calls batadv_get_real_netdev(), which reacquires RTNL while batadv_v_elp_iface_disable() holds the lock and synchronously cancels the worker. The path requires low-privileged local access and a batman-adv cfg80211 interface; the documented consequence is limited to availability.
