CVE-2026-43352

Controller disruption via unsafe DMA ring abort

Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026

DMA ring state corruption in affected Linux Kernel releases allows local users to disrupt I3C controller state through transfer aborts. The hci_dma_dequeue_xfer path aborts an already stopped ring, waits on a stale completion, and clears RING_CTRL_ENABLE, resetting hardware pointers. Local low-privilege access to an exposed I2C/I3C transfer interface is required; repeated timeout-triggering transfers expose stale memory to DMA and can hang devices or crash the kernel.
