Local video session failures via missing platform data
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Availability failure in Linux kernel 6.18 through 6.18.16 and 6.19 through 6.19.5 allows local users to interrupt SM8750 video sessions. The SM8750 entry in drivers/media/platform/qcom/iris/iris_platform_gen2.c omits the get_vpu_buffer_size callback and max_core_mbps value, preventing required internal-buffer allocation and leaving capability checks incomplete. Reachability requires local low-privileged access to an SM8750 system using the iris driver; session bring-up then fails for basic video decoding or encoding.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
