Local service interruption via sgtable leak
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
Resource leak in Linux Kernel 6.18 before 6.18.16 and 6.19 before 6.19.6 allows local users to exhaust kernel memory. The io_zcrx_map_area error path leaves an initialized scatter-gather table allocated when io_populate_area_dma fails because the !is_mapped guard skips cleanup. Reachability requires CAP_NET_ADMIN in the initial user namespace on a PAGE_POOL_32BIT_ARCH_WITH_64BIT_DMA system; repeated failures consume kernel memory and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
