CVE-2026-43135

Local service interruption via leaked DMA mappings

Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026

Resource leakage in the cx23885 ALSA driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt service through a failing audio setup request. snd_cx23885_hw_params maps DMA memory but skips cx23885_alsa_dma_unmap when cx23885_risc_databuffer returns an error, leaving the mapping allocated. The gate is local low-privileged access plus supported cx23885 capture hardware, and repeated failures deplete DMA mapping resources until service is interrupted.
