Local kernel crash via NULL receive buffer
Published May 6, 2026 · Updated May 6, 2026
NULL-pointer dereference in the s3fwrn5 NFC UART driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to crash the system during frame reception. s3fwrn82_uart_read() can consume and deliver a frame before allocating the next receive skb, then returns zero on allocation failure and leaves recv_skb NULL for skb_put_u8(). Reachability requires local access and the s3fwrn5 NFC UART receive path; the documented consequence is an availability-only kernel crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
