CVE-2026-43008

Local system crash via ERR_PTR mischeck

Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026

Denial of service in the Linux Kernel qixis-fpga GPIO driver 6.19 allows local users to crash the system during MMIO setup. The driver tests the ERR_PTR returned by devm_regmap_init_mmio() for NULL, so initialization failures continue to an invalid pointer dereference. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a QIXIS FPGA device path that can force regmap initialization to fail; no data exposure or modification is reported.
