Administrator access via hard-coded default credentials
Published May 29, 2026 · Updated May 29, 2026
Use of hard-coded credentials in Danelec MacGregor Voyage Data Recorder G4e before 5.250 allows attackers to gain administrator access. The device authentication mechanism provisions default accounts with credentials fixed in the firmware instead of unique per-device secrets. Access requires adjacent-network reachability and no prior privileges or user interaction; administrator control exposes device data and configuration.
