Unauthorized instance creation via forged changelist POST
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Missing authorization in Django 4.2 before 4.2.30, 5.2 before 5.2.13, and 6.0 before 6.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to create instances. The admin changelist view passed each changed list_editable form to save_form with change=True but did not reject a returned object whose state marked it as adding. Access to submit the affected admin changelist is required, and forged formset metadata can create a database row even when ModelAdmin denies add permission.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
