Internal resource access via unvalidated SAML metadata URL
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
SSRF in Open edX Enterprise Service 7.0.2 through 7.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to access internal resources via SAML metadata URLs. SAMLProviderDataViewSet sends SAMLProviderConfig.metadata_source directly to requests.get() without scheme enforcement, address filtering, or a timeout. Enterprise Admin access and a configured SAML identity provider are required; successful requests expose cloud metadata and internal services through the server.
