CVE-2026-42858Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated internal access via unchecked SAML metadata URL

Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026

SSRF in Open edX Platform allows remote authenticated users to reach internal services through the SAML provider-data sync endpoint. SAMLProviderDataViewSet passes the metadata_url POST value to fetch_metadata_xml, which calls requests.get without validating its scheme or destination. Exploitation requires an Enterprise Admin account and a configured SAML identity provider; successful requests expose internal-service reachability and cloud metadata.
