Unauthenticated account destruction via immediate anonymization
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Missing authorization in legal web GmbH WP DSGVO Tools (GDPR) 3.1.38 and earlier allows remote attackers to destroy user accounts. The super-unsubscribe AJAX action trusts an unauthenticated process_now=1 parameter and invokes irreversible anonymization instead of the email-confirmation path. A public nonce from a page containing the unsubscribe_form shortcode is sufficient; the action randomizes the password, overwrites identifiers, strips roles, and wipes user metadata for a non-administrator account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
