CVE-2026-42808

Host crash or code execution via unchecked copy

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Buffer overflow in the Bosch Sensortec COINES SDK streaming API 2.0 through 2.11 allows attackers to crash the host via a malicious USB or BLE board. The comm_intf_process_stream_response() function ignores number_of_samples and fills coines_stream_rsp_buf with all accumulated ring-buffer data; coines_read_stream_sensor_data() then copies that full size into the caller buffer without checking its capacity. Exploitation requires a malicious or compromised connected board to stream excessive samples, and the resulting host memory corruption also enables arbitrary code execution.
