Unauthorized inline object creation via forged POST
Published Apr 7, 2026 · Updated Apr 7, 2026
Missing authorization in Django 4.2 before 4.2.30, 5.2 before 5.2.13, and 6.0 before 6.0.4 allows remote authenticated users to add inline objects. GenericInlineModelAdmin.get_formset() accepted forged POST formset entries because its model form did not suppress newly added instances when has_add_permission() was false. A staff user with access to the parent admin model but no add permission for the configured generic inline model can create related records.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
