Unauthenticated stored XSS via unescaped favicon data
Published Jun 15, 2026 · Updated Jun 15, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Archetyped Favicon Rotator 1.2.11 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts into site pages. The favicon settings path stores attacker-controlled icon data without sufficient input sanitization, and the page-head renderer outputs the stored value without effective escaping. No authentication is required, and the injected JavaScript runs in each visitor's browser when an affected page is loaded, enabling actions within that visitor's web session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
