Cluster-root file disclosure via ReadMultiple traversal
Published May 11, 2026 · Updated May 11, 2026
Path traversal in MinIO before RELEASE.2026-04-14T21-32-45Z allows remote authenticated users to read host files through ReadMultiple. The handler decodes a msgpack Bucket value, passes it to pathJoin without getVolDir validation, and opens the resolved path outside the drive root. Exploitation requires a distributed deployment and a cluster-root HS512 JWT; reads are limited to files accessible to the MinIO process UID.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
