Stored XSS via sandbox-escaping DataSet messages
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Stored XSS in Xibo CMS before 4.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in an authorized user's browser. The Data Connector accepts crafted DataSet messages whose stored script escapes the iframe sandbox when an authorized user processes the content. Exploitation requires DataSet permissions and the nonstandard privileges that permit independent DataSet creation.
