CVE-2026-4255Public exploit

Administrative code execution via Ftd2xx.dll side-loading

Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026

DLL search order hijacking in Thermalright TR-VISION HOME 2.0.5 and earlier allows local users to execute code with administrative privileges. The Ftd2xx.dll dependency is resolved without a fixed trusted path, so Windows searches user-writable PATH directories and loads an attacker-planted namesake. Exploitation requires planting the DLL locally and another user approving the application's elevation prompt; the payload then runs as administrator.
