CVE-2026-42539Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Credential disclosure via overbroad API serialization

Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026

Excessive data exposure in DFIR-IRIS iris-web 2.4.27 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read secrets in API responses. User-account update responses serialize the complete user object, including password hashes and MFA secrets, while datastore update responses include server-local file paths. A valid session and access to the relevant update operation are required; disclosed credentials enable account compromise, while paths reveal server layout.
