JDBC URL injection in Apache Ranger 2.8.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through service configuration. Ranger service connection handling passed an attacker-controlled jdbc.url value to DriverManager.getConnection without the URL validation added in the corrected code. Network access is sufficient and no authentication or user interaction is required, allowing compromise of the Ranger server process.
