Root command execution via unescaped policy destination
Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026
OS command injection in the Tenda AC8 16.03.50.11 web interface allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. route_set_user_policy_rule parses the wans.policy.list1 destination field and passes it unescaped through doSystemCmd to a shell-built iptables command. Administrative web access, an uploaded configuration, wans.policy.enable set to 1, and a reboot are required; the injected command then runs as root.
