CVE-2026-4249Network attack vector

Persistent service interruption via unvalidated throttling events

Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026

Improper validation in WSO2 API Manager and component distributions allows remote attackers to interrupt API Gateway traffic via throttling events. The throttling endpoint processes unauthenticated JSON event payloads without first validating their structure and content. A crafted event leaves the gateway unable to process legitimate API traffic until manual intervention restores service.
