Remote code execution via unchecked diagnostic payload copy
Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in AGL agl-service-can-low-level 17.1.12 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via UDS requests. The send_diagnostic_request function in uds.c copies a caller-controlled payload into a six-byte stack buffer at a one-plus-PID offset without checking the remaining capacity. Exploitation requires network reachability to the library and a 32-bit ARM automotive ECU without stack canaries, where the overwrite can replace the return address.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
