Information disclosure or crash via OBJ line over-read
Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Open CASCADE Technology 8.0.0-rc5 allows attackers to disclose data or crash an application via a crafted OBJ file. For a minimal OBJ line, Standard_ReadLineBuffer::ReadLine returns a one-byte buffer, and RWObj_Reader::read passes aLine + 2 to pushIndices without a length check. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file locally; the bounded consequences are adjacent-memory disclosure or application termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
