CVE-2026-42476Public exploit

Application crash and disclosure via short STL lines

Published May 1, 2026 · Updated May 1, 2026

Out-of-bounds reads in the OCCT STL ASCII parser in 7.9.3 and earlier and 8.0.0-rc5 allow attackers to crash applications via crafted STL files. RWStl_Reader::ReadAscii fails to validate the lengths of buffers returned by Standard_ReadLineBuffer::ReadLine before comparing prefixes or directly reading bytes. Exploitation requires a victim to open an STL file containing extremely short lines, causing a reproducible crash or disclosure of adjacent heap data.
