Code execution via unverified plugin archives
Published Apr 28, 2026 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing integrity verification in OpenClaw before 2026.4.8 allows attackers to substitute tampered plugin archives during installation. The plugin installer accepts a downloaded archive without comparing its content against trusted digest metadata. A user must initiate installation, after which substituted plugin code runs with the permissions of the OpenClaw process.
