CVE-2026-4233Network attack vector

Authenticated file read via traversal sequences

Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026

Path traversal in ThingsGateway 12 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through /api/file/download. The endpoint uses the user-controlled fileName argument to construct a download path without neutralizing directory-traversal sequences, so the resolved path can escape its intended directory. A low-privileged account is required, and the consequence is limited to reading files accessible to the server process.
