KQL injection in Microsoft Azure Data Explorer Kusto Sink Connector before 5.2.3 allows remote authenticated users to alter data and policies. KustoSinkTask interpolates the db, table, mapping, and format fields from kusto.tables.topics.mapping into KQL commands with String.formatted without neutralizing metacharacters. Exploitation requires permission to submit or edit Kafka Connect configurations and executes commands with the connector service principal, enabling schema changes, mapping tampering, or policy changes.
