Host filesystem read and write via symlink traversal
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Path traversal in OpenZiti zrok before 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to read or overwrite host files through a public WebDAV drive. The davServer.Dir path resolver lexically normalizes WebDAV names but follows symlinks without verifying that resolved targets remain under DriveRoot. Exploitation requires an outward-pointing symlink already present in the shared tree; a public drive needs no authentication, and access is limited by the zrok process's host permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
