CVE-2026-4227Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Service crash via unbounded HideSSID parsing

Published Mar 16, 2026 · Updated Mar 16, 2026

Stack buffer overflow in LB-LINK BL-WR9000 2.4.9 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service via HideSSID retrieval. The bs_GetSSIDHide function reads the NVRAM HideSSID value and uses an unbounded sscanf conversion to copy it into a 64-byte stack buffer. Exploitation requires prior ability to implant an oversized HideSSID configuration value and an authenticated request to /goform/get_hidessid_cfg; the demonstrated consequence is a web-process crash.
