Authenticated code execution via extension allow-list bypass
Published May 13, 2026 · Updated May 13, 2026
Improper policy enforcement in JupyterLab 4.0.0 through 4.5.6 allows remote authenticated users to install unauthorized extensions. The PyPI Extension Manager accepts installations outside allowed_extensions_uris and the default PyPI index. Exposure requires an enabled default PyPI manager, an extension allow-list, and multi-tenant access; installed extension code can compromise the server.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
