Code execution via unchecked update executables
Published Apr 29, 2026 · Updated Apr 29, 2026
Download integrity failure in Ollama for Windows 0.12.10 through 0.17.5 allows attackers to execute supplied update payloads. The Windows updater's verifyDownload function returns success without checking an executable's signature or trust before staging it. Exploitation requires control of the update payload delivered to the Windows client; the silent update path then runs the substituted installer without user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
