File disclosure via unsandboxed backup paths
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Path traversal in affected Frappe Framework releases allows remote authenticated users to read files outside the backup directory. The download_backup handler passed the path from a /backups request to private-file delivery without verifying that its canonical path remained under private/backups. System Manager access is required, and the demonstrated consequence is server-file disclosure without reported modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
