Domain ownership escalation via unchecked invitation role
Published May 8, 2026 · Updated May 8, 2026
Privilege escalation in La Suite numérique People before 1.25.0 allows remote authenticated users to grant an existing user domain ownership. MailDomainInvitationViewset.create handles an already-registered email by creating MailDomainAccess with the raw requested role, bypassing the existing role ceiling. A mail-domain Administrator can therefore assign Owner without target interaction, enabling ownership persistence, owner demotion, and domain deletion.
