Remote disclosure via cross-section backup recall
Published Aug 17, 2026 · Updated Aug 18, 2026
Incorrect access control in Mahara before 25.04.5 and 26.04.0 allows remote attackers to read backups from another Text section. Crafted calls to the Text block recall functionality select content associated with a different section instead of enforcing section boundaries. The vendor identifies remote information disclosure but does not publish whether authentication is required or the exact request parameters, limiting the disclosed consequence to cross-section backup exposure.
