Privilege escalation in OpenC3 COSMOS before 7.0.0-rc3 allows remote authenticated users to perform administrative actions via scripts. Script Runner executes user-authored Python or Ruby inside a container that shares the service network, exposing Redis credentials and direct access to Redis and bucket APIs without normal permission checks. Permission to create and run scripts is required; exploitation reads secrets and configuration files and modifies settings, logs, plugins, or stored data.
