DoS via uncounted streamed upload bytes
Published Apr 24, 2026 · Updated Apr 24, 2026
Resource exhaustion in Axios before 0.31.1 and 1.0.0 through 1.15.0 allows remote attackers to bypass streamed upload limits. In lib/adapters/http.js, the maxBodyLength check covers buffered bodies, but maxRedirects set to 0 selects the native transport and pipes streams directly to the socket without counting bytes. Exploitation requires a Node.js service to pass attacker-controlled streams with a finite maxBodyLength and maxRedirects set to 0, allowing oversized upstream uploads and service interruption through resource exhaustion.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
