CVE-2026-41999Network attack vector

Information disclosure via proxy-address view selection

Published May 21, 2026 · Updated May 21, 2026

Information disclosure in PowerDNS Authoritative Server 5.0.0 through 5.0.4 allows remote attackers to receive wrong DNS data via TCP PROXY queries. The TCP receiver uses the proxy peer address, rather than the original client address from the PROXY header, when selecting a configured view. Exposure requires both views and PROXY Protocol; affected queries can cross view boundaries and return DNS records intended for a different client network.
