Local command execution via interpolated repository path
Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026
Command injection in Hypermodel Inc mcp-server-auto-commit 1.0.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary shell commands via autoCommitPath. The getGitChanges function interpolates the user-controlled autoCommitPath value into a cd command passed to child_process.exec, so shell metacharacters become commands. Exploitation requires low-privileged access to invoke the MCP tool and runs commands with the MCP server process's privileges.
