Authenticated OS command execution via wizard parameters
Published Mar 15, 2026 · Updated Mar 15, 2026
Command injection in D-Link NAS and NVR firmware version 20260205 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands. The cgi_wizard function in /cgi-bin/wizard_mgr.cgi passes the ip, netmask, gateway, dns1, dns2, pwd, and server_name parameters into operating-system commands without neutralizing shell syntax. A valid administrative session is required; injected backticks run commands with the appliance service's privileges.
