Unauthenticated shell command execution via reboot_time injection
Published May 4, 2026 · Updated May 4, 2026
OS command injection in WDR201A WiFi Extender firmware 1.02 and earlier allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute shell commands. The adm.cgi reboot_time handler copies the POST reboot_time value into a crond.sh command string and passes it to do_system without neutralizing shell metacharacters. The sink runs only when reboot_enabled=1; successful requests execute commands on the embedded device without authentication.
