Command injection in setupToolHandlers in AvinashBole Quip MCP Server 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. setupToolHandlers routes threadId and content into readDocument and editDocument, which interpolate them into strings passed to child_process.exec without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Reaching the flaw requires access to invoke an MCP tool; successful exploitation runs commands with the server process's privileges and can read, alter, or disrupt host data.
