Cross-mailbox reassignment via unchecked customer email
Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
Authorization bypass in FreeScout before 1.8.214 allows remote authenticated users to rebind conversations to hidden customers. The conversation_change_customer action trusts a supplied customer_email and updates a visible conversation without enforcing mailbox-scoped customer visibility. A low-privileged agent and APP_LIMIT_USER_CUSTOMER_VISIBILITY enabled are required; exploitation crosses mailbox boundaries and changes the conversation's customer association.
