Unauthenticated shutdown and job interruption via REST API
Published Sep 9, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026
Missing authorization in Apache Nutch Server 1.10 through 1.22 allows remote attackers to stop the service and interrupt crawl jobs. The REST API exposes server shutdown and job stop or abort handlers without authorization, and the force option kills running jobs before shutdown. Exploitation requires network access to the optional Nutch Server REST API and results in a service shutdown or interrupted crawl work.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
