CVE-2026-41861Hinoki check available

Root file write via network Alias traversal

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Path traversal in the BOSH agent before 2.847.0 allows attackers controlling IaaS metadata to write root-owned .network files on Ubuntu. The interfaceConfigurationFile function constructs a destination from the network Alias without validating traversal elements and creates missing parent directories with mode 0777. Exploitation requires control of IaaS-supplied metadata; the resulting write can alter network configuration and leave world-writable directories.
