Application interruption via unbounded SpEL evaluation
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Algorithmic denial of service in Spring Framework allows remote attackers to interrupt applications that evaluate crafted SpEL expressions. SpEL evaluation lacks an operation limit in affected releases, so a crafted expression drives excessive computation until application resources are exhausted. Exposure requires an application to accept and evaluate user-controlled SpEL; successful requests cause degradation or unavailability without data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=5.3.0 <5.3.49
- Affected versionversion=6.1.0 <6.1.28
